Agents Turned Business Owners Find Their Community & Grow Their Profits
A pair of agents who took the plunge and set up their own business in a bid to do things their way shared their story at ARX Mastery 2023.
Having previously run the lettings department of the estate agency they worked for, Rhiannon and Sophie found their ideas weren’t being taken on board.
That meant they were stuck in terms of increasing their revenue (and therefore their profits) because they were unable to improve existing or add new services.
They took the plunge and bought the lettings business from their old bosses, implementing all the ideas they’d learned when Rhiannon attended a one-day Agent Rainmaker course.
Knowing there was plenty more they could learn now they had the decision-making power to enhance the agency, they booked tickets to AR Live at the end of 2022 and then signed up to ARX.
Sophie explains: “We needed to be part of this community and to be around the positivity and ‘can do’ attitude of the people we’d met through Agent Rainmaker.”
In just one week the pair added £100,000 in revenue to their business, going on to add a further £230,000 through a new VIP service, contractor commissions, and a small acquisition.
And just last month, a further £800,000 in revenue was added via a much larger acquisition which saw the pair add around 400 more properties to their portfolio.
It’s not only given them increase profits, and the ability to grow their business in the way they’ve always wanted to – but has also enabled them to reward their team, have more freedom, enjoy time with their families, and fulfil other ambitions.
Sophie says they want to encourage others to take the leap of faith out of their comfort zone of doing what everyone is doing, to take action and make the changes they want to see happen in their life.
